01 // LOCAL DATA

1. What is stored on your device

Everything the extension needs to operate — your Spaces, folders, pins, customized names, wallpapers, and tab states — is saved locally inside your browser’s extension storage and IndexedDB.

This data stays on your machine and never touches any remote server unless you voluntarily turn on cloud sync with an account.

02 // CLOUD SYNC

2. Accounts and cloud sync (Lifetime)

If you purchase Lifetime or Supporter and choose to sign in, we store an account record (your email or Google identity, plan status, and payment reference) to manage your license.

When multi-device sync is enabled, your Spaces and pin structures are securely transmitted over HTTPS and stored encrypted. We never inspect or profile your browsing activity.

3. Payments & Billing

All purchases are processed securely by our authorized Merchant of Record on hosted web checkout pages outside the extension.

Payment processing code never executes inside your browser extension. We never receive or store your credit card, UPI, or banking information.

4. Optional conveniences

Arcline includes two optional features that connect to external web services, both of which can be turned off at any time:

  • High-Resolution Favicon Fetcher: queries a favicon service to display crisp icons for your pinned tabs.
  • New Tab Weather Widget: queries an open weather API for the city you configure.

5. Chrome Extension Permissions

Arcline requests only the minimum Manifest V3 permissions required to manage tabs and display the side panel:

  • sidePanel: To render the vertical sidebar beside your web pages.
  • tabs: To switch, reorder, group, and navigate your browser tabs.
  • storage: To save your Spaces and themes locally on your computer.
